Leaving hospital

Coming home from hospital in Westminster.

If a parent or partner is being discharged from St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, The Wellington Hospital in St John’s Wood, or University College Hospital on Euston Road, just over the border in Camden, tell the ward or discharge team that you’re arranging home care, then call us. We’ll talk about what’s needed for the first days at home and arrange an assessment as quickly as we safely can.

Read our guide to arranging home care after a hospital stay.

Funding

Paying for care in Westminster.

Westminster residents can ask Westminster City Council’s adult social care team for a free needs assessment, and family carers can ask for a carer’s assessment. If the council contributes to your care, you can usually ask for a direct payment and choose your own provider. Visit the Westminster City Council website (opens in a new tab) to start.

NHS-funded care for Westminster residents is arranged through NHS North West London. If you’ve been told you’re eligible, ask your care coordinator whether Hedgerow can provide your care. Not everyone qualifies for NHS funding.

Many families pay privately. We give a clear written quotation after a free assessment. Our guide to paying for home care explains the options.

Why families choose Hedgerow
